WEEK 5
LECTURE -
The lectures started with ArGIS videos, which is about using information systems to gather and map information geographically. Like Google Map, ArGIS information map can be accessed and used by organisations and institutions, such as the emergency services.
The lectures also focused on the crimes and threats facing the information system and the security controls that can be used to prevent or curtail these cyber crimes and threats that are associated to information systems. To prevent information systems crimes from happening, employees are made to sign private and confidentiality agreements. No one is allowed to extract any sensitive organisational data from the company databases for personal use. Unauthorised people are not allowed to access the company information systems whatsoever.
Threats such as viruses, namely worms, and Trojans are curtailed or prevented by using anti-virus software. These preventative measures keep organisational or personal computers safe from being infected by malware malicious software.Firewalls are are used to detect and prevent intrusion and an unauthorised access.

SEMINAR - The seminar is about Financial Forecasting using Excell. We entered data on Susi's Beauty Product and used Excel formulae to calculate the budget figures on various questions. The tutor helped us but we were allowed to try work things out on own. It was a great seminar.

Group work -
We went to our chosen company, G. Baldwin & Co. to interview them. We got all the information required for the coursework. We had a meeting on  Tuesday 27/02/18 and agreed on this coming Sunday 4/03/18 to start developing the data into meaningful composition. We are progressing well.
