LECTURE - TOPIC: CLOUD COMPUTING & RELATIONAL DATABASES -
We reviewed week five lectures and then moved on to week 6 lecture by discussing utility computing. We learnt subscription-based renting services. Organisations rent resources such processing, data, storage networking from external provider on as-needed bases for weekly or monthly payment. We also looked at

Rent time/place on physical resources
No initial cost - there is no prior charge for subscribing. Organisations only pay per use. The moment one presses the user button, charge starts till the stop/finish button is pressed to end the activity.
We learnt how to use web-services model to support and manage Information System needs. Some benefits of using web services model , such as AAS as a concept: DBaas, Daas, Maas, Baas, Caas are that the services are paid for on a subscription basis, installation and maintenance costsare outsourced, cost savings on the client part.
SEMINAR - today's seminar focuses on 'LOOKUP' in Excel. This tool help the user look for data in columns by inputting cell references. The LOOKUP tool searches and picks up the marching data from the database. It is an interesting tool in Excel.
GROUP WORK - We met on Tuesday 06/03/18 and discussed the data from the organisation. We found three problems in the business, of which non-use of Cloud Computing is one. Our next scheduled meeting is today Friday 09/03/18 to find solutions to the problems.
