Lecture: we had lectures on "Sustainability & Business in the 21st Century. It was delivered by a guest lecturer James Whittingham of LSBU. James talked about the key system that sustaining the Earth. This key system are air water and food. There all interconnected one way or the other to sustain life on Earth. We learnt that sustainability is the most amazing thing, in that, it is through it we human beings can do our bit to help in saving and preserving the Planet for ourselves and for future generations. He said that at present we are sustaining the unsustainable, in that, so much damage has been done to the atmosphere, the ocean and the land. He cited plastics pollution in the ocean, electronic waste on landfill sites, marine mammals, birds, animals, plants and the ecosystem dying and facing total extinction. James Whittingham stressed the need for society to make choices that would have positive impact on the planet. He gave some examples of what we can do reduce our carbon footprint. We can switch off electricity, gas and computers when not in use, reduction in water use, recycle and waste management, use bicycle and walking other than vehicle. All these contributions help to reduce pollution and will go along way to save the World for the present age and preserve it for the next generation. Let us all do our uttermost to contribute to this good course.
SEMINAR: we had discussions with the tutor and went through some few things for clarification.We are allowed to get on with our blogger. Those of us who had to redo the presentation, got on with it.
